Over the long run, international ETFs just underperform. In 2025 international did beat the S&P 500, as VXUS did, but I have to be fair about that.
I personally have started a smaller position in some VXUS, for diversification against things like currency debasement.
International exposure like different markets and currencies. VXUS has a great mix of both developed markets and emerging markets. So having just even a little portion of the portfolio in that makes a lot of sense these days.
