Ally trades at under one times book and just three times earnings, and I like Ally Financial as well.
Companies like Ally Financial, ticker ALLY, with shares up 14% over the last year and paying a 2.7% dividend. For a bank stock, it's got surprisingly strong growth with 14% revenue growth this year and 6% expected next, which I think it's going to beat that for closer to 7 or 9% growth. Earnings power here is exploding with 38% profit growth this year to $5.27 a share, putting the stock at at 8.3 times on a price-to-earnings basis.
Shares are now trading for 1.1 times book, well above where investors have been willing to pay in the past. And that revenue growth just isn't there to justify much more. So I'm going to be taking my profits on Ally.
